The story behind the work:

This work symbolizes being torn away from your home, but always carrying a sense of home in your heart. As the artist, to me this work encapsulates distinctly feminine energy, which is represented by the bird - the nest maker.

She is not to easily give up a home she has so carefully put together for herself, so she is determined to preserve it. But sometimes, holding on so tightly can tear you apart, and she is struggling with the endeavor.

She must shed parts of herself to be able to put down roots once again. But the most fragile and delicate creatures - butterflies - help carry her through this transition.
